Meet David and Judy Humphries.

Prior to their marriage in 1972, David and Judy Humphries made a commitment to God to base their marriage and lives together on Him.

Saved as children, they can look back and see that God has molded their lives and put many pieces in place to bring them to where they are today—retired from their careers, and using their education, skills, and experiences to serve Him.

In their Call to Service, David and Judy testify, “After 30 years of experience in public education, God allowed us to retire at relatively young ages, knowing that He was calling us to continued service. Since that time, we have answered that call in a variety of places, but no privilege of service has touched our lives like that of serving in Liberia, West Africa.” David and Judy have been to Liberia four times since 2005, one of those times for 2 1/2 months. They have worked alongside Liberian adults and children, meeting needs and teaching skills from sewing, building construction, vehicle maintenance, driving, well maintenance, cooking, medical assistance, and administration skills. “We have seen much darkness in Liberia,” they write. “Jesus came into the world as ‘The Light’, and left believers with the instructions, ‘You are the Light of the world.’ We know that Jesus is calling us to continue to shine the Light that he has placed within us in whatever way He calls us to. We sense there is more for us to do in Liberia.”

David and Judy will leave this summer for Liberia as Water of Life missionaries, and will stay for two years. We are thrilled at the opportunities that continue to open in Liberia, providing not only a home and vehicle, but countless souls in need of the Gospel, discipleship, and fresh water.
