Bruce Roush -

From a general mission trip perspective it was incredible. It was obvious that God was starting to really open up ministry opportunities within the country and that the leaders of Liberia were starting to perciene Living Water Liberia as a credible NGO. It was a blessing for me to meet and get to know the other team members as well as the local Liberia staff (Loren and William). The trip was mainly focused as a medical missions trip facilitated by 2 doctors and a nurse on the team. Several medical clinics and visits were conducted at a remote village (to the Gola people, at a local school, and at orphanages as well as in a local neighborhood.

Those of us that were not medically trained played a support role by taking temperatures, cutting/packing pills, giving Marlaria tests, playing with and holding the kids and talking to the adults. It was the first time I ever participated in a medical mission team so it was an interesting experience.

The trip also included a pastor's training conference where one of the pastors on the team conducted a week long spiritual growth conference. The conference was attended by 90-130 pastors and church leaders. I still crack up over the news of the "riot" that broke out on the last day. I'm sure that God will use that situation as a "teaching moment" in those pastors lives down the road.

There was also a water ministry element to the trip where some of us observed or lightly participated in some minor well refurbishing and pump repair. The survey outing to scout out potential pump repair sites was memorable. The diplomat dinner was interesting and was confirmation that God was honoring the recent changes in the LWL ministry. Based on my discussions with WIlliam I'm scheduled to go on the LWI Nicaraguq pump repair trip in March (God moves in mysterious ways).
